J&E has been family owned and operated for 3 generations since its inception in 1947. Starting in the back of a pick-up truck, the company would take orders at night, pick up the product and deliver the next day. This would occur twice a week to fulfill the restaurants’ needs at the time. The company has seen many changes and advances over the years. During the late 70’s, the company needed to adapt to a changing clientele that wanted on-demand produce. So, a warehouse was procured and product began to be stored.
In the late 80’s, larger companies began to sell produce. We were forced to adapt by expanding our inventory from exclusively fruit and produce to provisions including dry, canned, paper, and frozen goods.
